MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- As warmer temperatures come and go, growing concerns remain a constant about potholes and reckless driving for Milwaukee residents.

And as we brace for winter, going through freeze, thaw cycles, those potholes will undoubtedly become bigger.

No one wants to hit potholes, but in the streets of Milwaukee, that's what a lot of residents are met with, and now they are saying more needs to be done.

People in Milwaukee tell us potholes are a problem all year long.

"I had three tires that were messed up and my rim cost me over $1,000 to get fixed," said resident Rochelle Turner-Kyles.

Veteran truck driver Kevin Martinez, with Finish Line Towing, has been helping people on the streets of Milwaukee for the past 30 years. Martinez says he has seen it all.

"We get to places and we see this smashed up car and we ask them what happened -- 'oh, I hit the pothole and hit the car next to me,' we see that all the time," he said.

Uber drivers like Charles McKinney tell us the pothole problem has compromised his main source of income -- his car.

"I can't work right now," said McKinney. "He said it's going to be about three days, I hope."

Martinez offers this word of caution for drivers: "Everybody slow down, it isn't worth it."

The number to report a pothole is 414-286-CITY.

Last spring, the Department of Public Works said it would tackle reported potholes within three days. DPW did not return our request for comment Tuesday.
