MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Governor Evers presided over the kickoff of Pride Month at the state Capitol Friday, May 31.
It's a month-long celebration of Wisconsin's LGBTQ community and one of the symbols is the Progress Pride flag, a variation of the rainbow Pride flag that will fly over the east wing of the Capitol through the month.
"Each color represents something unique. Red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for harmony, and purple for spirit," said David Casey, secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.
The rainbow Pride flag was flown over the Capitol for the first time in 2019.
