Proton therapy clinic construction project topped off at Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) - - A giant girder was used at the Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin on Thursday, March 7. It was used to top off an exciting construction project on the grounds. 

Once construction is finished next year, there will be a new proton therapy clinic. Proton therapy is an advanced form of radiation used to treat cancer patients. CBS 58 was told that using protons reduces the chance of damaging healthy tissue while treating cancer. 

Right now, proton therapy is not available anywhere in Wisconsin.
