Public Works Committee proposes improvements to city roads and tree maintenance

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Public Works Committee is proposing improvements to city roads and the urban canopy.

The committee submitted two files to the common council on Thursday, Jan. 4.

First, the committee is looking to work on Wells Street from Broadway to Van Buren.

Improvements would include replacing gutters and sidewalks, as well as adding a raised, separated bike lane.

The second filing focuses on accepting funding for tree maintenance, such as tree removal and tree planting.

Both filings will be discussed at the next common council meeting.
