Punch Bowl Social in Milwaukee's Deer District to transform into 'The New Fashioned'

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new place to hang out will take over the old Punch Bowl Social located in Milwaukee's Deer District. 

According to a news release, the transformed spaced called, "The New Fashioned," will showcase local food and drink favorites, immersive entertainment and a curated retail marketplace.

Bars & Recreation, the company behind the project, says The New Fashioned will feature local traditions, rediscovered in a modern, state-of-the-art facility in the heart of the downtown Deer District.

Under the leadership of Marla Poytinger, CEO of Bars & Recreation, the transformed space will showcase local food and drink favorites, “It will be a must-visit destination for Milwaukee locals and tourists alike,” said Marla Poytinger, CEO of Bars & Recreation.

The news release says, Bars & Recreation is currently hiring several key leadership roles in sales, marketing, social media, food & beverage and operations to support the new venue.

“I’m so proud to be growing this company again, especially after the challenges of the last few years in this industry,” said Poytinger. “Between The New Fashioned project and our West Allis expansion, we’ll be adding 35,000 square feet of prime hospitality space to our diverse portfolio – just prior to what is sure to be an incredible summer in Milwaukee.”
