MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Singer and songwriter Leela James is scheduled to perform at the Pabst Theater as part of her "Thought U Knew" tour, with a performance scheduled for Friday, March 29, 2024.

James has made significant strides in the R&B genre since entering it in 2005. Her debut album, "A Change is Gonna Come," led to nominations for a Soul Train Award and a NAACP Award. Her success continued with the 2010 album "My Soul" achieving a position in the Billboard Top 40 and Top 10 in the R&B album chart.

Her single "Complicated" reached the top of the US Adult R&B chart in 2021, and her ballad “Fall for You” was certified Gold in 2022.

Throughout her career, James has performed alongside a range of artists, including James Brown, Robert Randolph, The Isley Brothers, Maxwell and Fantasia.
