Racine man arrested for OWI after allegedly crashing into home

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine man was arrested for his 4th OWI after allegedly crashing into a home in Mount Pleasant.

Officers were called to a home near Spring and Ohio on March 3 for a report of a vehicle striking a house.

Upon arrival, officers noticed multiple people outside of the home, visible upset with a man who was later identified as Randy Strohkirch.

Strohkirch allegedly admitted to being the driver of the vehicle.

According to the criminal complaint, Strohkirch had to drive over a snowbank and a traffic rail and through a yard before hitting the house.

When officers spoke with Strohkirch, they were able to detect the odor of intoxicants. He also allegedly had glassy, red eyes, and struggled to balance properly.

Strohkirch blew a .193 and allegedly told police, "I'm not fully aware of what happened. All I know is that I hit the house and nobody got hurt...I don't think."

Officers spoke with the homeowner who said he just got home, walked in his front door, and a vehicle suddenly crashed into his house.

Officers found an opened 12 oz can of Keystone light beer in Strohkirch's vehicle.
