Racine & Me: O&H Danish Bakery Celebrates 75 Years

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Danish word "hygge" means to enjoy the good things in life. O&H Danish Bakery is an expert in providing those good things as 2024 marks 75 years of award-winning Kringles and other delicious scratch-made items. Peter Olesen, the President and 4th-generation owner of O&H, joined us this week to share all the details about their anniversary celebration. 

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept.14th, O&H will host their 75th anniversary celebration at their 5910 Washington Ave. location. Everyone is invited to partake in family-friendly activities, games, and photo opportunities. The event will feature live music from local Racine band North Cape Express from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Additionally, there will be samples of world-renowned Kringles available for everyone to enjoy. Plus, the food truck Street-Za will be present providing specialty pizzas. 

However, the anniversary celebration is more than just a fun event as O&H is bringing back four specialty Kringle flavors for a limited time. The delicious flavors include Apricot Sugar, Pineapple Pecan, Custard Poppyseed, and Cherry Almond Macaron. Each of the flavors is dedicated to highlighting the four generations of Olesen-family ownership.

The flavors will debut in all five store locations during the 75th anniversary starting on September 14th and will be available until September 29th. Mail orders of specialty Kringles begin on September 9th. Plus, all locations will celebrate with decade-themed decorations and costumes while the specialty flavors are available.
