Racine Children's Theatre

Treasure Island

October 4 - 6, 2024

The magic of this play comes from the way the entire audience creates the storm at sea, a mosquito-infested jungle and a treasure cave filled with eerie ghosts. Five children become members of Long John's treacherous pirate gang while others join Captain Smollet's crew. The children team up with the fearsome Ben Bulba to help defeat Red the Pirate Queen and save Long John. The audience must decide whether to hang Long John or let him sail away forever to inhabit children's dreams.

Join the Blue Fairy, Stromboli and a lively cast of characters as Geppetto journeys beyond the toyshop to discover the meaning of family. When the Blue Fairy grants Geppetto's wish to bring his beloved puppet to life, the new father quickly learns that being a parent is full of challenges. He struggles to make his son "the perfect boy," only to lose him to a gang of Roustabouts. It is only when faced with the thought of never seeing Pinocchio again that Geppetto truly learns the joys of being a father and loving his child unconditionally. This new musical, which retells the classic Disney story from Geppetto’s perspective, features the beloved classic songs, “When You Wish Upon a Star” and “I’ve Got No Strings,” alongside a host of new songs by Oscar winner and Grammy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz.

Red Riding Hood: A Panto

Little Red Riding Hood plans to take a basket full of goodies to visit her gran who lives deep in the woods, but the Big Bad Wolf has other plans for her. Small but mighty, Little Red hatches a plan to outsmart the Wolf, but she needs your help! With a host of hilarious characters, join the adventure and enter the world of a girl on her way with slapstick comedy and audience participation. Explore the panto tradition of taking a favorite children’s story and turning it on its ear with an outrageous ensemble, flamboyant costumes, and tons of humor for both adults and kids of all ages.

Royal Melodies

Cinderella, the Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, and all their friends are ready to sing in a concert that is just for the young and young at heart. Come dressed up in your favorite finery and create magical memories for prince, princess, and royalty alike as make-believe jumps out of the storybook. This special 45-minute concert will feature a meet and greet opportunity after the show.
