Racine police arrest suspect following near 6-hour long standoff

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine Police say an arrest has been made in connection to an incident involving a firearm.
Police responded to a tactical situation near Geneva and Hagerer Street on Sun. Jan. 12th, at around 6:49 a.m.
Officials say they began talking with a male suspect, but he remained uncooperative with police throughout the majority of the incident.
The Racine Police Department Swat Team and Crisis Negotiation team was then activated.
The suspect was then taken into custody at around 12:21 p.m.
Officials say no members of the community or Police Department suffered any serious injuries and there is no threat to the community.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
