RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -– The Racine Zoo is gearing up for a month of fun events in April, hoping to feature something for everyone to enjoy.

Beth Heidorn, Executive Director at Racine Zoo joined us on Monday, March 27 to discuss what is on the zoo's calendar.

The "All In for the Animals" fundraiser, which aims to raise much-needed funds for the animal care department, will be held from April 3 - 7. The aim of the fundraiser is to help the zoo maintain its "gold standard" of animal care.

The zoo's annual Eggstravaganza will take place on April 8. Families can enjoy an Easter-themed day with Cluck-Cluck door hunts, cookie decorating, egg decorating and crafts. Guests can also take photos with the Easter Bunny for $5. All activities are included with regular zoo admission and free for zoo members.

 "Zoorific Saturday: Party for the Planet" will be celebrated on April 22, featuring crafts, games and conservation education specialists, who will be on hand to educate and inspire guests.

In honor of its centennial, Racine Zoo is looking back on 100 years of memories. The zoo has created a timeline of highlighted events on its website and encourages visitors to share their fondest memories at the zoo by sending photos and stories to [email protected].

New volunteers for the Adult Volunteer Program and "Volunteen" Program for teens ages 13-19 will be accepted in the spring, with applications due by April 1.
