RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine Zoo is hosting several autumn events, including Jack-O'-Lantern Nights, Old Fashioned Cocktail Night, "Hallowine" and Boo at the Zoo.
Executive Director Beth Heidorn previewed these activities when she joined us on Monday, Sept. 30.
Jack-O'-Lantern Nights runs Thursdays through Sundays from Sept. 26 to Nov. 3, 6 to 10 p.m., featuring over 1,000 illuminated jack-o'-lanterns.
Old Fashioned Cocktail Night is Saturday, Oct. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m., offering a sampling of old fashioned cocktails from local competitors while music plays along the shore of Lake Michigan. Voting will determine the winner. Attendees must be ages 21 or older.
"Hallowine" occurs Friday, Oct. 25, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Halloween-themed wine tasting taking place at the zoo, complete with hors d'oeuvres and some spooky creatures. General admission is $40, with non-drinking admission costing $30.
Boo at the Zoo is Saturday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., included with regular zoo admission. Expect Halloween themed fun for all ages, including crafts, pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating, food, drinks and more. There will also be special animal ambassadors.
Heidorn also discussed that the zoo's volunteer applications for the volunteen and volunteer programs are due Tuesday, Oct. 1.
