Racine Zoo previews events for spring fundraising and education
RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine Zoo is gearing up for some springtime events aimed at raising funds and supporting animal education programs. Beth Heidorn, Executive Director, and Abby Flores, Conservation Education Manager, joined us on Monday, March 31 to discuss.
The All In for the Animals fundraiser runs through April, with donations supporting veterinary care and operations for more than 300 animals. Contributions can be made starting Tuesday, April 1 by clicking here.
Wild About Wine, a ticketed event supporting rhino care, will take place Saturday, April 12 from 6 to 9 p.m.
The annual Eggstravaganza is scheduled for Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature candy, egg decorating, cookie fun and other crafts. The fun is included with regular zoo admission.
A spring break camp for kindergarten through fifth grade runs Monday, April 21, through Friday, April 25.
The zoo will host its annual Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 11 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., including a catered brunch, giraffe encounter, a flower for mom and more.
