Remains of Wisconsin Korean War soldier to be interred in Fairchild

FAIRCHILD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The remains of Army Cpl. Donald L. DuPont, a Wisconsin native killed during the Korean War, will be interred in Fairchild.

DuPont was reported missing in action on Dec. 2, 1950, while fighting near the Chosin Reservoir, North Korea. His remains were turned over by North Korea on July 27, 2018, and identified by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency of this year.

The ceremony will take place Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Cleveland Cemetery in Fairchild, with graveside services preceding the internment.

According to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, over 7,500 Americans remain unaccounted for from the Korean War.
