OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Rep. Jessie Rodriguez, R-Oak Creek, announced on Thursday, May 7 that she will not seek reelection in the fall after 13 years serving the 21st Assembly District.

"After a great deal of reflection and many conversations with my family, I have decided that I will not seek reelection this fall," Rodriguez said. "Serving the people of the 21st Assembly District has been one of the greatest honors of my life, which makes this decision deeply difficult."

Rodriguez cited the demands the job places on family as a key factor in her decision. She was first elected 13 years ago when her son was three years old.
