Report: Packers hire former Cardinals Head Coach Jonathan Gannon as defensive coordinator

CBS 58

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Multiple NFL insiders have reported that the Green Bay Packers have hired former Arizona Head Coach Jonathan Gannon as their new defensive coordinator.

Gannon served as Head Coach in Arizona for three seasons, before being fired by the team earlier this month.

He will now work under Packers Head Coach Matt Lafleur, replacing Jeff Hafley who left the team following the Packers' loss to the Bears in the Playoffs.

Hafley, who spent two seasons with the Packers, got hired for the Head Coaching position for the Miami Dolphins just last week.

With the reported hiring of Gannon, the Green Bay Packers will now have had three different defensive coordinators since the 2021-2022 season.
