STURGEON BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A charity in Sturgeon Bay is looking for the owner of an important piece of jewelry.
A resale store for the nonprofit, Sunshine House, found an old ring with a WWII veteran logo. The organization believes the ring was donated by mistake.
Research shows the ring dates back to the 1940s.
Now, the nonprofit is hoping the owner will return to claim it.
"I said immediately, we need to get a post out there to try to find the rightful owner, because this is not something that belongs in our hands," said Jeremy Paszczak of Sunshine House.
The charity posted its find online, and it's been shared hundreds of times.
Anyone who claims to be the owner will need to describe what the ring looks like before they can claim it.
