WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 61-year-old man is dead after falling through the ice while operating a UTV on Saturday, Jan. 25.

It happened on Pewaukee Lake on Saturday shortly after 3:00 pm.

First arriving truck and ambulance crews from the Lake Country Fire & Rescue department made entry into the water with ice rescue equipment.

Two surface swimmers were unable to locate the victim or the UTV due to the depth of the water. 

Rescue divers with scuba equipment then entered the water and pulled out the victim. 

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office, the 61-year-old was pronounced dead at a local hospital. 

The incident is under investigation.
