Resolution proposing 'Purple Alert' system for domestic abuse victims unanimously approved

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Common Council unanimously approved a resolution Tuesday, March 23, to help domestic abuse victims.

The resolution pushes for state and federal legislation that would create a Purple Alert system.

The system would speed up the process of filing a missing person's report for domestic violence victims, including those injured or vulnerable.

It comes on the heels of a domestic incident police standoff in Milwaukee Monday morning.
