Retired playground equipment from Wauwatosa elementary schools sent overseas for children in Nicaragua, Dominican Republic
WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Playground equipment from multiple schools in Wauwatosa are now providing children from all over the world with the gift of play.
The Wauwatosa School District shared in a social media post, they have a partnership with Kids Around the World, a group with a mission to help kids around the world by bringing the gift of food, play and story.
Through the partnership, the former playground equipment from Eisenhower and Washington Elementary Schools found new homes in San Felipe, Nicaragua, and Dona Julia, Dominican Republic.
"It's an honor to contribute the gift of play to children across the globe," the post reads on Facebook.
The district shared photos of the equipment being installed overseas as well as children playing on it with smiles on their faces.
