MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A historic building downtown that was home to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for nearly 100 years is now a modern day apartment complex.
The $35-million project blends elements from the Journal Sentinel with luxury amenities for residents.
The original building was created in 1924 by a Chicago architect.
Now, former top-floor executive offices have been turned into an open-air rooftop.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson, joined by the complex's developer, spoke ahead of the ribbon-cutting Tuesday, Nov. 15.
"The stories generated here will no longer be in print -- they'll instead, be stories about people," Mayor Johnson said.
These Deer District apartments are available to lease right now.
