MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Some babies and their families at a Milwaukee hospital got to see a special visitor on Saturday, Dec. 23.
Santa came a few days early to spread some holiday cheer for the babies at Ascension St. Joseph's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Greg Phelps and his son Kyle have been continuing the tradition for the last 21 years.
25 years ago, Kyle was born at St. Joseph's and Santa came to visit.
Greg said that visit helped them relax for a few minutes.
When that Santa left, he wanted to continue the tradition.
"I know the evolution and the emotions that they feel day to day or maybe even hour to hour and I have walked in their shoes, and I just want them to know that this is a special time because they have a baby and it's close to Christmas," said Greg Phelps.
Greg tells us that he wants parents to know that "hope is a lot stronger than fear."
