Family identifies victim after reported drowning in Nagawicka Lake

DELAFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A water rescue ended in sorrow Saturday, June 12, after a man went missing in Nagawicka Lake.
The City of Delafield Police Department and rescue teams responded to a possible drowning at the Nagawicka County Boat Launch along 651 Highway 83 around 12:30 p.m.
When they arrived, they learned that a boat with five people was on Lake Nagawicka. One, a 38-year-old Milwaukee man, had entered the lake and didn't resurface.
Search and rescue teams began a water rescue to locate him.
They eventually found him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family has confirmed that the man is 38-year-old Juan Mejia. They started a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
DELAFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A water rescue is underway at Nagawicka Lake for a person that went missing in the lake.
The Western Waukesha Fire District confirmed that their dive team had been deployed to the incident.
According to scanner audio, a 911 caller told dispatch that a person has been in the water for about two minutes and it is currently unknown their distance from the shore.
The audio goes on to say that the person was initially on a boat and went into the water.
Witnesses at the scene told CBS 58 that a man in his 20s was out on a boat with a group and that they were doing donuts before going overboard.
Our crew states that the search appears to have been suspended with fire and dive teams still on the scene.
Delafield police posted on Facebook saying that the Bleeker St. Boat Launch is closed off at this time due to an ongoing investigation and water incident.
