Multiple Milwaukee polling locations changed ahead of August partisan primary election

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Election Commission says several polling changes will take effect for the Aug. 11 partisan primary election after the recent fire at Lincoln Avenue School along with MPS construction. 

Four wards will be affected, including:

  • Ward 143 (Formerly at Gwen T. Jackson School)
    • New location: Center Street Library, 2727 W. Fond du Lac Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53210       
  • Wards 145 and 169 (Formerly at Frances Starms Discovery Learning Center)
    • New location: Starms Early Childhood Center, 2616 W. Garfield Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53205
  • Ward 247 (Formerly at Lincoln Avenue School)
    • New location: Becher Terrace Apartments, 1800 W. Becher St., Milwaukee, WI 53215  

Impacted voters will be sent a postcard in the mail with details, and the elections commission is planning for additional signage indicating changes at the former and new sites.
