WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One local organization is using local fine dining to raise funds for urban elementary school students from throughout the Milwaukee area.
The ninth annual SHARP Literacy Unwrapped MKE fundraiser will take place Thursday, May 30 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Deco in West Allis.
Unwrapped MKE will showcase top chefs from the greater Milwaukee area crafting gourmet dishes with a twist: they primary feature McDonald's ingredients, with dishes including "hearty cheeseburger soup with savory Big Mac croutons" and more.
Participating chefs include Executive Chef David Sapp of Central Standard Crafthouse & Kitchen, Executive Chef Michael Genre of Harbor House, Chef Amanda Wisth of Lemonyay, Executive Chef Tom McGinty and Chef Shareca Thompson of Milwaukee Athletic Club, Chef Ashton Rotman of Rot’s Hots Food Truck, Executive Chef Brian Taborski of Saz’s Hospitality Group and Executive Chef Steve O’Neil of The Bridgewater Modern Grill.
Tickets are $100 per person, with registration available by visiting SHARP Literacy online.
