MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--Have you read about Zen and meditation, but have never actually done it and want to try? Are you doing meditation at home, but wish to supercharge your practice by sitting with other, like-minded people? Do you want to sort out how to navigate a difficult world more effectively? Are you interested in learning more about Zen and how it might help you? Good news! The Great Lake Zen Center, or GLZC, will be holding Introduction to Zen sessions the first Thursday of each month. The first session will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, August 7th, 2025.

The location is in Unity Center, 1717 N. 73rd St, Milwaukee, WI 53213. GLZC Co-Abbot Susi Childress will talk about the origins of Zen meditation, what they do in a Zen Center, and why they do it, as well as brief instruction on different forms of meditation practice. If you want to give meditation a try, a weekly meditation practice will be held from 7 to 8pm, following the introduction.
