Shooting near 77th and Winfield leaves 1 dead, police seek suspect

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office has identified the victim of the Jan. 28 shooting near 77th and Winfield as 64-year-old Marcus Matlock.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A fatal shooting in Milwaukee claimed the life of a 64-year-old in Milwaukee late Sunday, Jan. 28.
The Milwaukee Police Department reports that they responded to an incident involving gunfire near 77th and Winfield Ave., where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene following gunshot injuries. The shooting reportedly took place shortly before 7:30 p.m.
While police note that the investigation into the shooting is still active, they also suggest the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation.
MPD is seeking a known suspect in connection with the shooting, and anyone with information is urged to assist in the investigation.
