GURNEE, Ill. (CBS 58) -- Six Flags Great America and sister water park Hurricane Harbor near the Wisconsin-Illinois border will adopt a summer-long chaperone policy starting Thursday, July 17. The policy will be in effect all day from Thursday through Sunday.
Guests under 15 years of age must bring a valid, government-issued ID, including date of birth, at entry. After Sunday, kids under 15 will be required to bring a chaperone over 21 years old to remain in the park after 5:00 p.m., according to the park's current updated regulations. The reactivated chaperone policy comes a week after CBS News confirmed there were shots fired in the parking lot outside of the amusement park grounds.
