WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A pedestrian riding a skateboard suffered significant leg injuries after being struck by a car in Waukesha on Sunday, Feb. 10, according to police.

The Waukesha Police Department tells CBS 58 that the crash happened when the skateboarder made a sudden maneuver into traffic, leading to the collision. Officers responded to the scene, and the pedestrian was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing as officers continue to review information.
