Snow arrives late Thursday into Friday

The 10 day forecast turns more wintry with a few chances for snow and much colder air across the Midwest!  Snow in November is nothing new.  Over the last 5 years the area has picked up on at least a trace of snow.  November of 2015 was the snowiest with close to 7 inches!  The normal in Milwaukee is 2.4".

The majority of the computer models agree that the first measurable snow of the season will arrive for late Thursday night into Friday morning.  The atmosphere aloft will be cold enough to support light to moderate snow.  That snow will arrive late Thursday night and linger throughout Friday early afternoon.

While totals will likely change, a swath of 0.5" to 1.0" will be common across the area, with the highest totals occurring close to the Illinois border.  Temperatures will be cold enough Friday morning for some slick spots.

The snow should taper to flurries by late Friday morning or during the early afternoon.
