WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Members of the Souls to the Polls program gathered for a press conference Wednesday, May 8, calling for the Department of Justice to launch an investigation into the alleged disruption of the free ride program during the 2020 election.
They are accusing leaders of the Wisconsin Republican Party for purposefully hindering the ability for Black voters to use the ride program to get to the polls.
Reverend Greg Marcus emphasized the non-partisan nature of their organization and was adamant that an investigation take place.
"We demand accountability, transparency and assurance that tricks like these will never happen again," said Rev. Lewis, executive director of Souls to the Polls.
Executive director of the Wisconsin Republican Party, Andrew Iverson, is being accused of having involvement in the 2020 scheme, and Souls to the Polls members have called for his immediate removal.
