22-year-old man dead, identified after officer-involved shooting near 84th and Kaul

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --The 22-year-old man who was reportedly by police on Friday, June 12 has been identified as Jaylyn J. Brown.
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting near 84th and W. Kaul Friday afternoon, June 12.
Milwaukee police state that officers responded to a call about a man with a gun threatening to shoot the caller near 84th and W. Kaul Ave. Officer learned that the man was trying to rob the caller. When police arrived, they saw the suspect walking away from the scene and attempted to stop him.
The suspect, a 22-year-old man, told officers to shoot him as he held a revolver to his own head and threatened police. He then fled to a nearby apartment building up to the second-floor hallway.
Officers heard the suspects gun discharge and officers told him to drop the gun. An officer discharged his weapon, but no one was stuck at that time.
Officers were able to negotiate with the suspect and he agreed to accept a bottle of water and a cigar from police. When he walked down the stairs to get the items, officers attempted to take him into custody only for him to flee back upstairs.
Officers then discharged their weapons again, striking the suspect. Medical aid was given and a revolver was recovered.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead around 12 p.m.
Police later learned that he attempted to rob another victim of their vehicle with the revolver.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
The officers involved are a 39-year-old man with over 13 years of service, a 46-year-old man with 22 years of service and a 41-year-old man with 22 years of service.
They all have been put on administrative leave.
The Milwaukee area Investigative Team will be investigating, and the Waukesha Police Department is the leading investigative agency.
