PHOENIX, Ariz. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers took the next step toward the 2024 season with the first full squad workout at American Family Fields of Phoenix.

The energy level is high, and the fun of early spring training is in full swing. Pitcher Wade Miley found a scooter for manager Pat Murphy to ride around as players started stretching for the day. Murphy did a few laps around the complex before ditching the scooter to watch his team in action.

Brewers owner Mark Attanasio enters his 20th year with the franchise and points out that the Brewers are a top three team in the National League over the last 8 seasons. Attanasio praised pitcher Brandon Woodruff, who is reportedly re-signing with the Brewers, but Attanasio pointed out that the deal was not completely done as of late Tuesday morning.

Pitchers and hitters got to work as the Arizona sun beat down Tuesday afternoon, with the first spring training game just a few days away and the regular season starting in a little more than a month.
