State Fair brings sights, sounds, and tastes to Children's Wisconsin
CBS 58 WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin State Fair brought the sights, sounds and tastes of the fair to Children's Wisconsin on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
The hospital lobby was filled with games, music and classic fair treats.
Children and their families had the opportunity to interact with therapy dogs dressed as fair animals, predict the winner of toy pig races, indulge in cream puffs, and more.
"Being able to participate in the State Fair like they would if they were in or out of the hospital, they are then able to go back upstairs to their hospital room and do some of the really hard things that they have to do, this is an amazing break, it allows them to feel normal, it allows them to be together. It's just fun," said Leslie Scott, child life specialist at Children's Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin State Fair runs until Sunday, Aug. 16 and will be open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
