MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- At Marquette University's Lubar Center Friday, Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford was in attendance as part of the university's "Get to Know" series.

Crawford was elected Wisconsin circuit judge in Dane County back in 2018, and her experience in the state includes serving as assistant attorney general of Wisconsin as well as working as an administrator with the Wisconsin DNR.

On Friday, Crawford met with members of the public and answered questions on what her approach would be if elected.

"I try to apply the law as fairly and impartially, to reach a decision that applies some common sense and takes into account that these are real people, with real problems in front of me," Crawford said. "I consider myself, my judicial policy is pragmatism. You know, making sure we are applying the laws the way they're intended, which is to protect the rights of the people of our state."

A similar meet and greet for Crawford's opponent, Brad Schimel, was held by Marquette on Feb. 18.

Both candidates will continue to court voters ahead of the election on April 1.
