Stephenson, Bucks to make history in tonight's game broadcast
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- For the first time in Milwaukee Bucks franchise history, a woman will call a regular season Bucks basketball game.
Zora Stephenson, the Bally Sports Wisconsin sideline reporter for the Milwaukee Bucks, shatters a glass ceiling tonight as the five-time Emmy Award Winning Journalist becomes the first woman in team history to be the play-by-play announcer for a regular season Bucks game.
Stephenson makes her NBA play-by-play broadcasting debut tonight as the Bucks return home for a battle against the Charlotte Hornets at 8 p.m. CT.
The Bucks made the news official in a tweet released this afternoon saying, "Tonight, Zora Stephenson will be handling the play-by play duties during Bucks vs. Hornets on Bally Sports Wisconsin, becoming the first woman to call a regular season Bucks game."
Stephenson has been with the Bucks as a sideline and digital reporter since September 2019 with previous experience as a news reporter and anchor in Denver. The broadcast veteran is also a former Division One basketball player, spending her college career at Elon University.
Regular play-by-play broadcaster Jim Paschke will return to his role on Sunday for Milwaukee's game against the Orlando Magic at 6 p.m. CT.
