WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- About 1,500 middle and high school students attended the fourth annual Experience the Trades Expo at the Waukesha County Expo Center on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
More than 30 skilled trades companies hosted hands-on learning activities, offering students the chance to explore careers ranging from 3D printing to crane operation.
Amanda Payne, president and CEO of the Waukesha County Business Alliance, said the event helps connect students with future opportunities in the region.
"Just really a unique opportunity for kids to try something that they may not have tried before, and one of our goals is to build strong partnerships between business and education, get kids connected early on to some of the incredible businesses we have here in southeastern Wisconsin,” Payne said.
More than 30 schools were represented at this year’s event.
