Suspect in custody after pursuit begins in New Berlin, ends in West Allis

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A suspect was taken into custody after fleeing from police on Saturday, May 4.

It happened near National and 124th around 8:10 a.m. 

According to the New Berlin Police Department, they were alerted to a stolen vehicle near National and 124th. An officer was able to get behind the vehicle. The vehicle increased its speed and fled. Pursuit was initiated. The suspect continued to flee at a high rate of speed on National. 

At that time, the officer ended the pursuit. 

The suspect vehicle was then involved in a 3-car accident. The suspect vehicle ended up rolling over into the City of West Allis. The suspect then left the vehicle and attempted to make entry into a West Allis apartment building. 

West Allis officers were able to locate the suspect and take him to custody without incident. 

The two individuals involved in the accident were transported to a hospital. Police say none of the injuries appear to be life threatening.
