Suspect wanted after throwing firework at Milwaukee police, injuring 2 on Water Street

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- A suspect is wanted after throwing an unknown explosive device at Milwaukee police officers on Water Street on Monday, July 5. 

According to police, an unknown suspect set and threw an unknown explosive device towards officers around 12:20 a.m. near Water and Juneau. 

The device detonated and injured two officers. The device is believed to be a powerful pyrotechnic. 

The officers, a 45-year-old man and 40-year-old man, both sustained non-life threatening injuries. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Milwaukee police are investigating the incident as a battery. Police are seeking an unknown suspect.
