Suspected swatting call leads to Kenosha police response at Bradford High School

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Kenosha Unified School District has confirmed that no security threats were found during an initial call of shots fired early Tuesday, Feb. 4.

KUSD issued a press release at around 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday to confirm that there was no threat.

"Students and staff have resumed business as usual, and all after-school events will take place as planned. Additionally, counselors are available at Bradford High School for any students who may need support following the incident," the statement says.

KUSD Superintendent Dr. Jeff Weiss thanked the cooperation and adherence to safety protocols by the students at Bradford High School, while also offering gratitude to law enforcement and school staff.

The district finished the statement by saying that they take all threats seriously, whether they are real or false.


KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Kenosha police responded to a report of shots fired at Bradford High School on Tuesday, Feb. 4. KPD said on social media that they searched the building and found no threats or victims.

Police first notified the public of their response at around 11:12 a.m. and reported no immediate threats.

By 11:20 a.m., authorities stated the incident appeared to be a swatting call, otherwise known as a false police call.

A systematic search of the building was being conducted by their 11:50 a.m. update, with officers advising the public to still avoid the area.

The situation was confirmed by police to be all clear at around 12:21 p.m.

Roadways near 39th Ave. were blocked during the response, and the incident remains under investigation.
