SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A "suspicious item" found in Sheboygan on Tuesday, March 4, forced residents in the area of 13th Street and New York Avenue to evacuate.

State Highway 28/14th Street was closed between Pennsylvania and Wisconsin Avenues while authorities responded. 

The Milwaukee County Explosives and Ordinance Disposal Unit responded and found the item did not contain explosives and did not pose a danger to the public.

During the investigation, officers were able to locate a suspect in this incident.

The suspect, a 42-year-old Sheboygan man, was arrested and will be referred to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office for various offenses.
