T-Pain blasts Wisconsin State Fair Park, Milwaukee Mile over auto drifting event safety concerns
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A booking beef between a beloved star and a Wisconsin event venue.
It revolves around the auto event 'Wiscansin State Fear' that was supposed to happen at the Wisconsin State Fair Park this summer.
Hosted by award winning singer T-Pain, the event was scheduled to take over the Milwaukee Mile, in an open drift style event that also has games, karaoke, and carnival rides.
According to a video posted to Tiktok, T-Pain said organizers were making progress. But then State Fair officials started raising issues over the event's name, and a particular public safety concern.
"We cannot do carnival rides because the carnival rides are closely tied to gangs. he said we can't have carnival rides because if we have rides there, gangs are going to come." T-Pain said in the video.
In the two-part video posted to social media, T-Pain voiced a number of frustrations he had working with the organizers.
On Friday, Milwaukee Mile Staff responded. In a statement posted to social media, they apologized for the way the situation was handled:
T-Pain said his 'Wiscansin State Fear' event will now take place at Road American in Plymouth on June 13.
