WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A teenage boy is now charged in connection to a death investigation in Waukesha County.
According to a criminal complaint, 17-year-old Nikita Casap hadn't been to school in a couple of weeks. That's when police did a welfare check at the request of a school resource officer and later discovered two bodies -- Casap's mother and her husband.
This all took place at the family's home on Cider Hills drive starting on Friday night.
Documents say police found the 17-year-old's mother's body wrapped in blankets. A second body was found in their office, covered with a pile of clothing.
Family members previously told CBS 58 the victims were Donald Mayer and Tatiana Casap.
According to the criminal complaint, the family vehicle, a handgun, and the family dog were all missing after the search.
The complaint says the 17-year-old drove all the way to Kansas, where he was stopped by police. The family dog was also in the vehicle.
Nikita Casap is currently charged with operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent and theft of movable property.
This is a developing story. Stick with CBS 58 for updates on-air and online.
