The Domes introduce fall events happening this month, like Mythical Menagerie and a Dia de los Muertos celebration

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- From now through the beginning of November, you can walk through a garden of fairies, mermaids and Medusa. Mythical Menagerie at the Mitchell Park Domes aims to bring flowers and plants to life like a fairytale.

"Everything in there is kind of from the fantasy world, so that includes many of the flowers. There’s actually a Merlin flower in there that you can discover, so lots of unusual ones," said Christa Beall Diefenbach, CEO of the Milwaukee Domes Alliance.

Over the next couple of weeks, there will be 200 more marigolds for the Day of the Dead celebration being held on Friday, Oct. 21.

"It’s actually pretty spectacular. We grow most of the plants that go into the Show Dome from seed. And those are grown by our horticultural team, and as you can imagine there’s an art and a science involved there because they are creating plants that maybe weren’t meant to bloom this time of year," she said.

The community is invited to come out and celebrate Día de los Muertos by adding items to the community ofrendas.

Mythical Menagerie runs through Nov. 9.
