MUSKEGO, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's the most wonderful time of year for The Gingerbread House in Muskego. The bakery and restaurant come alive with gingerbread house decorating and Christmas cookies every December.

"I think it's just the spirit of the house that makes the magic happen... and a little creativity," said Tracy Bohrer, the owner of The Gingerbread House.

Twenty years ago, Bohrer bought a 1880's farmstead to turn into a full scratch restaurant and bakery. It's become a must-go place in Muskego for people all over SE Wisconsin.

"A chocolate chip cookie all the way to a custom wedding cake," said Bohrer. "We do a lot of specialty lattes, and right now, because it's the holiday season it's the most magical time so our gingerbread cookie latte does kind of stand on its own."

You'll find Gingerbread people in every corner and on many of the menu items-- from potpies to home decor in the upstairs boutique.
