Ceremonial groundbreaking held for future Milwaukee Public Museum
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Blood donations are crucial, especially around this season. The American Red Cross of Wisconsin says there's still time for you to make a difference before the end of the year.
"Typically, we see a decline in blood donations around the holidays," said Jennifer Warren, regional communications director for Red Cross Wisconsin.
The American Red Cross 12th annual Day of Donations Blood Drive is coming to the Milwaukee area on Tuesday. "We are looking for donors of all blood types, especially type O," said Warren.
Lindsey McIntyre has been donating blood for the last three years. She told CBS 58 that she was inspired by seeing how her donation could help someone like it helped her mom.
"I know that my mom, before I was born, had Leukemia, so she very much relied on blood donations and so that really got me into it," she said.
McIntyre says she's encouraging people to get involved and sign up to donate. "You can make a difference with just 30 minutes of your time," she said.
Tuesday's donation drive will also include some giveaways for donors including a Red Cross T-Shirt while supplies last.
The blood drive is set for Tuesday, Dec. 26th from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Renaissance Milwaukee West Hotel, located at 2300 Mayfair Road.
