'This is the year': Packers fans get hyped up for NFL Draft in Green Bay, meet star players
GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Anticipation is building for football fans across the country, and Green Bay Packer fans are getting an extra treat this year with the 2025 NFL Draft at Lambeau Field in less than three weeks.
"This is the year," said Packers fan Nathan Wiech. "This is the year."
The Packers kicked off their tailgate tour making a stop at the Baird Center in Milwaukee Tuesday, getting fans pumped for the upcoming season.
The longstanding tradition of the Packers Tailgate Tour is a fan favorite. It features current players and former football stars making stops across the state and taking time to meet their loyal fans.
"You get a feel on how big they really are compared to seeing them on TV or playing on the field," said Packers fan Jeff Kruse.
"It was a really cool experience to meet all the players, it's not something you get to do at Lambeau Field," said fan Alex Wiech.
The pressing topic on every fan's mind is what they are calling the once-in-a-lifetime experience. Ready for all the action the 2025 NFL Draft has to offer as it sets up shop in Green Bay.
"They get to come to Wisconsin," said Packers fan Innocent Nwagbara. "They get to enjoy our hospitality, so I think it’s a great event for us. Even for the people from Milwaukee, we get to go there and really enjoy the NFL in our home."
"It's exciting because you're talking with everybody, every week, like hey, who's going, what are we doing?" said Kruse.
While providing all things green and gold, the fundraiser supports the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation.
Fans coming together for a good cause, while showing pride and rooting for their home team.
"It's amazing, green and gold baby, let's go," said Nwagbara.
