MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Hundreds of students at Milwaukee Public Schools got a big surprise Thursday morning.
Life Center Milwaukee donated thousands of toys to kids from six MPS schools.
Thursday students from Engleburg and Grantosa schools received their gifts after putting on a holiday concert.
Life Center Milwaukee teamed up with Convoy of Hope to make this happen.
"Convoy of Hope reached out to us and asked if we wanted a truckload of toys to give out to the community. Of course, we jumped on it right away," said Teresa Melbye. In total, about 3,000 toys will be donated.
"It's truly amazing to see the outpouring of love from our community and to share with our young people to make their holiday seasons great," said Dr. Keith Posley, MPS Superintendent.
The next toy giveaway event will be held Friday at Browning Elementary School.
