‘Touched, punched, pushed’: Milwaukee haunted house owners say actors were attacked by guests
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- For the second straight year, the Los Gordos Ice Cream shop on the south side of Milwaukee is running a haunted house in the month of October.
The haunted house has strict rules about not touching the actors while walking through.
“I tell them if you touch any of my actors, you will be removed from our premises with no refund, because it’s just something we don’t tolerate,” co-owner Karla Greco said.
The haunted house has up to 18 youth actors in the house while it is running, with adults in the house as well, and security on standby.
Over the weekend, things got out of hand when owners say three teenagers going through the house hit, punched, and inappropriately touched several of the actors.
“Whether it was getting touched, punched, pushed their head against the wall,” Greco said. “I heard the last radio call, my last kid, 'my private area was hit, my private area was grabbed.'”
Greco and security went in to kick the three teenagers out but were too late, as the actors started to come out one by one.
“My face is scratched. I had a plastic mask, she pushed me against the wall, and it hit my eyebrow. I had another kid, a very young girl, my niece, say my face got pushed into a wall,” Greco said.
Security and staff got the three teenagers off the property.
“We just want everyone to respect our rules, respect that you can’t touch kids that are here trying to do something fun for you and make it a good experience for you and your family,” Greco said.
The haunted house will be open this weekend with additional security.
“Since the incident, we’ve upped our security, we want to keep it as safe as we can, and then we do have adults in the haunted house as well, to make sure our children are safe that are in there,” Greco said.
