MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Changes to flights out of General Mitchell Airport were top of mind to travelers making their way out of the city this holiday weekend.
"Oh my gosh, we almost [changed our flight]. But we decided, 'oh no, let's just see how this goes, maybe we'll thread the needle and be in and out'," Madison resident Deborah Kelly, who was flying to Florida on Friday, said.
"All week we've been panicking about whether we should do it, or not do it, fly or not fly. Fly on Wednesday or Thursday. We decided to just to let it play itself out."
For Kelly, her flight was just 15 minutes delayed on Friday. Another family from Green Bay, headed to Arizona for the holiday, said they were only delayed about an hour.
"We actually drove from Green Bay yesterday because of obviously the weather. So, we came earlier. So, we were right down the street," Tina Haanen said.
For Aleah Powers, a Milwaukee resident set to visit her dad in Michigan, a sense of relief washed over her when she saw all flights to Detroit were canceled except hers.
"I actually was going to drive and then my parents freaked out and they bought me a last-minute ticket on Sunday. So, it was up in the air as to whether or not I would even get out," Powers said.
